What is being said about this book:
In Layman Terms is a fascinating book of poetry. It successfully represents something that is woefully underrepresented these days: the loving emotions of the male. With all the aggression and anger depicted in books, on television, and in films, we tend to forget that it is love that really drives us as human beings. In Layman Terms is an intimate examination of this love, and is a fantastic read. Steve Manchester has a style that is eminently enjoyable, and carries the reader gently through an exploration of feelings and family ties. You will find yourself gliding through the collection, and at its conclusion feel that you have read something both refreshing and meaningful. - Shane Coughlin, Editor & Poet (UK)
In a style as smooth as fine brandy, Manchester bravely delves into the complex relationships of life. The author uses vibrant imagery and simple, unforgettable verse.
- Kris Moon, Editor, Titan Magazine (MA)
Steven Manchester is a magician of words. One of my favorite authors, he is a poet with the flexibility of experience and imagination to take you from realms of darkness to thresholds of passion and places in between you've never imagined possible. In Layman Terms is a collection of poetry that many of us will identify with, share memories, joys and tears.
- Victoria Valentine, Publisher Skyline Literary Magazine (NY)

We are pleased to present In Layman Terms, a pensive Anthology by Poet Steven Manchester, which encourages in the Reader a surprising degree of personal introspection. As the title suggests, the work is characterised by its simplicity in expression and in themes and subjects imbedded in reality whilst subtly exploring emotions and feelings. Employing both verse and prose, In Layman Terms is reminiscent of Steven's previously published Collections, A Search for Inner-Peace and The Never-Ending Quest (both published by Mellen Poetry Press of NY under the pen name, Steven Herberts). Mountain Mist Productions is pleased to present In Layman Terms and we welcome Steven Manchester who comes to us with an impressive list of credits, some of which are: The Unexpected Storm (P.S.I.
