"Though I prefer being known simply as Scotty, my full name is Scott Douglas French, and the title of this book is: The Guidebook of Solutions. This book is a practical, common sense approach to solving problems. In a way, it is a refresher course on life, an operator’s manual, and a troubleshooter’s guide all in one. It is a book about basic principles, it is a book about truth, and it is a book about responsibility. The Guidebook of Solutions is written in plain language and should prove easy to read. But more importantly, it offers insight into life and how everything fits together.
This book has its roots in that age-old stream of wisdom handed down by the greatest visionaries, teachers, and philosophers throughout history. Wisdom intended to elevate the human condition through enlightened thinking. Wisdom imparted by Jesus Christ, Plato, Aristotle, Emerson, Einstein, William James, Thoreau, Shakespeare to name just a few. The Guidebook of Solutions is spiritual. It is aimed at higher consciousness and explains how this elevated mindset will better enable us to solve our problems. But it should be noted, this book is not based on any single religious ideology. It cuts across many different philosophical and religious disciplines incorporating only the simple essence of each.
The Guidebook of Solutions has benefit because finding the highest and best solutions to our problems is essential for success and happiness. The book has merit because it guides the reader to a higher more enlightened way of thinking and living, which goes beyond just solving individual problems. In this shrinking world, common sense and higher consciousness are part of the solution for our global problems as well. "Let me share some personal insight about myself, my experience, and how The Guidebook of Solutions came about. I was educated at The University of Texas in the early 1970’s (majoring in science & business and receiving my degree in Applied Arts and Science). Over the course of my life I have worked in many different environments, held many different jobs, known many different people, and faced many different challenges. This list includes being a self employed house painter, a 30 year battle with alcoholism, floor duty as a LVN Charge Nurse in a nursing home, and 15 years operating as a Texas Real Estate Broker. As a Broker, I worked around numerous self made millionaires. I know what it takes to be successful and have personally experienced both the thrill of windfall profits from the Texas real estate boom, and the agony of losing it all to bankruptcy when the boom turned to bust. I share this about myself because I believe a person's level of insight and understanding is more accurately measured by the width and depth of his experience than by the number of diplomas on his wall.
But, even as important as experience may be, the paths I have traveled and the number of times I’ve been around the block have a deeper bearing on The Guidebook of Solutions than that of mere experience. This is because my training in the school of life has been interlinked with a spiritual quest, and this book was written to give back a few of the insights my quest has thus far revealed."
