Kel Harris grew up in central Queensland, Australia’s Sunshine State, studying in small country schools and The School of the Air before being enrolled in a Christian Boarding School.
“I did not go to University; I went to England instead. I took any job I could to earn the cash to keep travelling and never knocked back a challenge. I took a job as a typist before I taught myself to type, and learned languages in their birthplaces, from necessity. I’ve had a lot of fun growing up and growing old.
I’m an ordinary Australian. I hate greed, and cruelty, and prejudice. I love rain, and puppy breath, and Australia.”
Kel lives in rural Queensland with her husband and their family of animals (of assorted species, breeds, shapes, sizes and genders). She has a real job, running the family business, but dedicates regular hours to her writing.
On the subject of Writing Kel asserts, “If you want to be good at something, you have to work at it.”
