We are pleased to welcome Jenny Markwell as our new Poet. An Australian living in the Hunter region, part of Jenny's compassion as a Poet comes from having spent 15 years as a Nurse in Sydney. Family, friends and of course Poetry, fill her busy life as she also dabbles in her lifetime passion for writing.

We know that Jenny's style of writing will hit a nerve with the average person as she seeks to soothe emotions and tell stories in an open and honest way. Hers is the type of writing that everyone can relate to at some stage in their lives.

Jenny is a member of The Hunter Bush Poets Society and is garnering recognition as a Performance Poet. She is the winner of the 2008 Lakes Mail Traditional Section Poet Of The Year and was also awarded Second Place in the 2008 Original Section.
